Andrew Smith, British Hairdressing Awards Southern Hairdresser Of The Year 2019, has had an incredibly successful career in hairdressing to date and is recognised as a top educator and trainer by some of the world’s largest professional brands in hairdressing. In 2019 his contribution to British hairdressing was recognised in some of the most prolific industry awards and resulted in him being announced as BHA Southern Hairdresser Of The Year, Hair Awards Men’s Hairdresser Of The Year, Hampshire Hairdresser Of The Year as well as reaching the finals in many more including the highly acclaimed Salon Business Awards when for the third year, he was one of only 6 British Hairdressing talents to reach the finals of the UK’s Ultimate Stylist Category 2019. Andrew has a huge passion for education and training and he was recently honoured to be invited to create a global TRIBUTE collection for milk_shake & parent company z.one Concept: he began his career at the world-renowned Sassoon Academy and following on from this, he became a member of the first-ever Wella Sebastian Cult team. Andrew has recently been named as UK ambassador for milk_shake and electrical brand Corioliss and has an important role in the z.one Concept International team. A brand new course in which Andrew empowers colourists with the knowledge and confidence to take their balayage skills to the next level. During the half-day course, delegates can sit back and be inspired by watching Andrew demonstrate ‘Super Balayage’ which has become his trademark colour technique.
Andrew will educate on the techniques and benefits of using his bespoke ‘Super Balayage’ system to ensure when you go back to the salon, you can create colours that your clients immediately fall in love with making sure they would never dream of visiting another salon again.

A great course aimed at Graduate level or experienced stylists who want to reinforce knowledge/re-fresh/learn new techniques to create beautiful waves and curls.
Overview
This course will investigate the broad selection of waves and curls that have flooded the catwalk and participants will enjoy demonstrations on how to recreate this variety of looks in the salon. Andrew will overview the styling products and tools that he believes best to achieve these commercial looks. Participants will then re-create the looks on their models.

This course is aimed at those who are interested in editorial and high fashion styling. Ideal for Level 3 hairdressers who would like to become involved in session and shoot styling.
Overview
This is a full day course that concentrates on the fundamentals of Session and Editorial styling. During the morning Andrew will focus on his most recent looks from various Fashion Weeks, and cover the planning process including inspiration, capturing and nurturing the inspiration and communicating with designers. The afternoon is workshop style where you will work on either blockheads or long-haired models.
FOUNDATION CUTTING
Who should attend
A great course aimed at Graduate level or experienced stylists who want to reinforce knowledge/re-fresh/learn new techniques to create the most classic shapes.
Overview
During this course the participants will enjoy demonstrations of the classic short uniform layer and the uniform long hair layers and after watching them being performed they will then re-create the looks on model head blocks.

CLASSIC CUTTING
(2-day course combining the perfect bob and foundation cutting courses)
Who should attend
A great course aimed at Graduate level or experienced stylists who want to reinforce knowledge/re-fresh/learn new techniques to create the most classic shapes.
Overview
During this course the participants will enjoy demonstrations of the four most classic shapes and after watching them being performed they will then re-create the looks on model head blocks.

We strongly advise the use of quality head blocks for this course as it gives the participants the freedom to create the very shapes they desire without the added pressure of the client demands.
CREATIVE CUTTING
Who should attend
This course would suit hairstylists with a minimum of around 2 years cutting experience and whom are looking broaden their skills and receive new creative ideas for use in the commercial salon environment.
Overview
During this course the participants will enjoy demonstrations of two creative cuts and will then re-create the looks on their models. The participants will be given creative ideas to liven up their columns.
Models
Participants can bring along a model who is looking for a change and are open minded to creative options OR the use of model head blocks would be a great way to ensure that the participant can be as creative as they wish without the pressure of the client’s needs.
INSPIRATIONAL AFTERNOON (demonstration only)
Who should attend
This course is aimed at those who wish to sit back and soak up new techniques/ideas to broaden their skills in cutting and colour.
Overview
During the afternoon the participants will enjoy demonstrations on creative cutting and colouring on live models. There will be time given for questions and answers on anything milkshake or no
inhibitions. There will be a live catwalk at the end to showcase the looks and to give the participants an opportunity to get up close to the styles and examine the end results.

THE PHOTOSHOOT EXPERIENCE
Who should attend
This course is aimed at those who are interested in putting a collection together to promote themselves/ their salons or build up their own portfolio. The course will talk through every aspect from the idea to the final shoot day and picking the best shots.
Overview
Participants will go through all the planning involved before a shoot – gathering inspiration ideas and creating mood boards etc. they will receive insights from a photographer, make up artist and a clothes stylist so they can pick their brains and gain little tips. Participants will then witness a live photo shoot on pre-prepared models and will be given the opportunity to re-style the looks so that they can receive one fully edited image for them to take home with them.
